To Live A Life Well Lived

for everyone
Eben and I had a discussion on BLESSING yesterday on our way home from church.  This point was clear:

GOD WANTS TO BLESS YOU!

- He is able to do so exceedingly abundantly above all you can ever ask or think (Ephesians 3:20).  And I am not just talking about finances.  I am talking about any and every aspect of your life, particularly relationships (more about this in the next post).

- You are meant to enjoy God's blessings.  No more poverty mentality.  If you tell God "Ok na 'to" (this is enough), then fine.  If mediocre is enough for you, that's all you'll get.

- If you want to be a mere spectator, then don't envy the actor, the giver, the runner, the one who's chosen to live life and live it to the full (John 10:10).  Fair enough?

- You are meant to bless others with your blessings.  The problem with people who tell God "this is enough" is that they're usually just thinking about themselves.

- The only ceiling/cap/limit to the riches God is able to pour into your life is how much you believe.

- God's fruitfulness and prosperity in your life is possible because of His immense, outstanding, extravagant, eternal, and awe-inspiring love for you.

- God releases His provision when you dare believe what He said He would do.

You are so right on again Malou, We should be grateful for everything that God gives us and use it to bless others. Jesus never taught that we need to live in poverty we just need to be thankful and give praise for all the wonderful blessings that God has poured out on us.

It's become kind of a pet peeve. I do not like it when people say "this is enough" when it comes to God's blessings, as if God's ability, power, and generosity were quantifiable.

I definitely am not encouraging greed. Yes, a bit may be enough for someone, but what about BEING BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING?

Just as God is able and willing to extravagantly pour his blessings into our lives, so should we to others.

Amen to that. If God pours out great financial blessings we need to give praise and then us it to bless others. The two things that bother me are 1. prosperity doctrine (we give to God so we can get more. 2. poverty doctrine (we can only get close to God and inherit the kingdom if we are financially poor. Both doctrines are unbiblical teachings. If God wants to pour out blessings upon us we should give praise that He has chosen us to be stewarts over many things. God Bless you and the family this 4th of July weekend.
