We had a 4-hour journey (plus shopping at the Tanger Outlet) ahead of us. We needed to make sure everyone's filled up and ready to go. Preparing breakfast was more fun than eating it. Glad everyone enjoyed it!

I failed to catch the name, but they had to get the attention of the person taking a shower at a bathroom upstairs. I guess that bathroom was directly above Jonathan...and there was a leak coming from it...

Everyone finally came...exhausted. The Dinner Crew was preparing dinner as people came in. Mmmm...we had Grilled Pork Steaks, Chicken & Pork Adobo, Indian Curry Chicken, Grilled Veggies, Salted Eggs & Tomatoes, Halo-Halo Fruit Salad, Pancit, RIce, Pies & Cakes. By the time dinner was done, we were all very pleased and content indeed. Thank you Dinner Crew!

We had to take Gnatty Branch Road off of Parkway to get out of this major traffic jam that stretched for what I believe would be so many miles long. Unfortunately (and maybe fortunately), not everyone had the chance to get to this little adventure. It did not say ONE WAY, but it sure looked like it should've...

We went up to Ober Gatlinburg starting from a crawling, slow paced traffic. When we got to the winding roads leading up to the resort, the drive became a little faster. We took the tram to downtown Gatlinburg where one can feast their eyes on all sorts of stores, restaurants, goody shops, and entertainment. The Daswanis, Jim, and the Tabelismas went to the Aquarium and the rest roamed the village shops - something I got to do only a bit of. Others got a chance to try out free taffy at the Ole Smokey Candy Kitchen as they watched how the candies are made. The kids and I got them in different flavors - peanut butter, strawberry, banana, chocolate, butterscotch, grape, and orange. Mmmm...delightful to the taste buds!

The next morning, we were awakened to much needed food by the Saturday Breakfast Crew. After all had their fill, we got into our cars for a drive up to Ober Gatlinburg. I wish we had more time there. Everyone went their separate ways and got together later in the evening at the cabin for dinner and games.

We went to Gatlinburg for a weekend from April 20-22 with a convoy of 6 cars containing altogether 21 adults and 8 children. It was a weekend of fun with wonderful people, yummy food, sights, and shopping; save for the fact that we were not able to maximize our stay due to an auto show that usually had us stuck in traffic for an hour or more just to get to our planned destination. There was a bit of adventure included - we took a detour on our way down Parkway (the cars were barely moving) to get to Pigeon Forge. We turned into Gnatty Rd and followed the very narrow path that would eventually get us to Dolly Lane and back to town. When I say narrow, I mean NARROW...and it was not a one way road either! Enjoy the pictures!
